MFT Card Design Superstar Contest 2016 - Entry 2 - Jumping Raccoons!

Hello all,

Okay, another entry for the awesome contest that MFT is hosting! :) (Click on "contest" to take you there!)

I recently got the Circle Spinner Channels die and wanted to try it out. I didn't have too much luck with it, so you won't be seeing a video of my card in action. :( It seems to get stuck in the channel.

Here's my card, just the same.

I'm somewhat bummed that he won't jump without some SERIOUS shaking of the card. :( Somebody kindly suggested I try baby powder along the channels, so I may give that a shot.

Thank you for looking!

MFT Card Design Superstar Contest 2016 - Entry 1 - Hello Plaid!

Hello all,

Well, being a fairly new My Favorite Things (MFT) customer, this is my first year learning about their Card Design Superstar Contest.  :)

Very exciting, and the other contestants are blowing this out of the park! So much talent!

It's quite intimidating, but as I tell my students, if you never try, you'll always regret wondering. :)

So here is my humble entry...

Hehe, as you see... nothing special. :)

I was proud of how I used the Stitched Scallop Edges die up on top to make a snaky type stitching. :) I simply alternated how I placed it on top of itself. Easier to explain in person, I promise!  ;)

Thank you very much for taking time out of your day to stop by and taking a gander at my entry.

Good luck to all who enter!

Thank You Berry Much!

Hello all,

This morning, a very sweet fellow teacher surprised me with some fresh organic fruit, including the sweetest strawberries I have tasted in a long time!

So, I had to come home and whip this card up pretty fast. :)

And of course I needed to have a matching envelope! :)

Absolutely Fabulous Wonky Chevrons!

Hello all,

Have I mentioned how much I love Clarity stencil brushes? Love 'em!

I had a go with them and blending...this time with GLOSSY white paper. :) I was surprised how quickly it dried!

And a close-up to see if you can spot the glossy paper. :)

Congratulations on your Pregnancy!

Hello all,

Well, it appears I'm going to be a great-uncle again! My niece and nephew-in-law are expecting their first in March of next year!  :)

So, of course, I took the opportunity to make a card!

My first intention was to color those flowers with Copic markers, but after looking at the detail, I thought I'd take a chance and just leave them black and white. I wanted a tiny bit of color to set them off, so I used MFT's Distressed Patterns to added a bit of character!

Here's a close-up of the sentiment on Vellum. It's heat embossed.  :)

I hope they'll enjoy the card. I'm praying that they'll have a smooth, healthy pregnancy and that the little one will arrive ready to take on the world! :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Congrats all Ways (PTI); Funky Flowers, Distressed Patterns (both MFT)
Dies: Horizontal Stitched Stripes (MFT)
Paper: Peach Bellini (MFT); Stamper's Select, Vellum (both PTI)
Ink: Peach Bellini, Steel Blue (both MFT); Tuxedo Black (Memento); Versamark
Other: Black embossing powder (Ranger)
