Thank you for your kindness

Hello all,

A card I had created for a challenge, only to find out it closed today at 12:00 PST!  D'oh!  :)

I had to do some masking of the edges and the flowers...and that was fine... but it still seemed that some ink went THROUGH the Eclipse masking paper!  :(

I then outlined each flower with a Micron pen, and then I outlined all of the flowers with a T1 Copic marker. :)

Here's a close-up of the flowers and sentiment. :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Modern Blooms, Words of Inspiration (both MFT)
Dies: None
Paper: Stamper's Select (PTI)
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine); New Leaf, Mint Julep, Bright Buttercup, Canyon Clay, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Lavender Moon, Hibiscus Burst (all PTI)
Other: Micron Pens, Eclipse masking paper

A Unicorn Good-bye

Hello all,

Well, I recently got a new stamp set called Magical Unicorns by MFT. I wanted to make a card with it, and I got the perfect opportunity.

Some backstory: the fifth-grade teachers at my school, whom I adore, have decided that they are the Unicorns. Long story to their name, but suffice it to say, they're living up to the mascot!

Well, sadly, one of them is moving, and I took the liberty to create a card that two of them may want to consider sending the third off with. Below, is the fruits of my labor:

It's hard to make out, but there is glitter on the horns, sun, castle, and the flying unicorn's wings. :)

And the inside:

I hope the ladies enjoy the card! :) I enjoyed making it.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Magical Unicorns (MFT); Watercooler Talk (PTI)
Dies:  Treeline Dies, Stitched Basic Edges (both MFT)
Paper: Stamper's Select, New Leaf Patterns, Pinefeather, Blueberry Sky (all PTI)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Other: Copics, Scan N Cut

Two MFT Challenges in one?! :) Sketch #282 and Color #46

Hello all,

You know, there comes a certain sense of accomplishment when we can kill two crafting birds with one stone! :)

I was able to do such an amazing *cough* feat when I entered my submission into both the

and the

Here's my submission (taken in my new light box! :) )

And a close-up of the stitching. :)

I can't tell you how excited I am to have a new lightbox. It makes a huge difference (in my opinion) in the photography of cards, small items, etc. :)

Thanks for checking out my submission! :)

Dies: Basic Stitch Lines, Stitched Scallop Edges, Stitched Alphabet (all MFT)

Make-it-Monday #250 - Masked Backgrounds

Hello all!

No, your eyes are not deceiving you... I'm actually crafting on a Monday! Crazy! :)

When I saw that a buddy of mine, Laurie, created a Make-it-Monday video, I knew I wanted to play along with PTI's challenge! Click HERE to go to the challenge for the video and more information.

Here's my take. You can see I need some SERIOUS practice on blending!  :)

The challenge I had most was using that blue painter's tape. When I tried to CAREFULLY take it off, it tore the paper a bit in the corner. Don't look TOO closely, else you might find it! ;)

It's a great technique, and I truly had fun doing it! :) Thanks, LB!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Inspired: Praise (PTI)
Dies:
Paper: True Black, Stamper's Select (both PTI)
Ink: Grass Green, Turquoise Sea, Sweet Corn, Sweet Mango, Cherry Red (all Gina K)

Another First! - Wink of Stella!

This was a day of first for Craftin' Ted, it seems!  :)

I finally got a pen of Wink of Stella and had to try it out on some Flashy Florals (MFT)

Click image to see larger version.

I don't think I've EVER said "fabulous" in my life, but it seemed to work with this card. :)

It's hard to make out, but the "fabulous" was die-cut three times and layered for dimension. Also, the Wink of Stella is on some random flowers. It's also a gold shimmery paper. :)

A tilted card to hopefully make out the Wink of Stella.

The "ABSOLUTELY" was actually cut out of the floral panel I created...you can tell by the lower part of the "A" being all wonky!  :P

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Flashy Florals (MFT)
Dies: Absolutely Fabulous (MFT)
Paper: Fine Linen, True Black, Gold Shimmer (all PTI)
Ink: Berry Sherbet, Autumn Rose, Spring Rain, Lavender Moon, Wild Wisteria, Bright Buttercup (all PTI); Cornflower (MFT); White (Wplus9)

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #281 - My first shaker card! :)

Hello all,

Yep, seems like I'm doing nothing but challenges lately... but that's ok, as I'm really enjoying trying out new things...

...like my first shaker card! (Yes, I've joined this century!)  :P

Here's the challenge (click on the image to go there!)

Click image to check out the challenge!

I thought it was time I'd break out my new(ish) Gumball Machine (MFT) and make a shaker card!

Here's a tilted view so that you can see the metallic accents! :)

I used a Fuse tool (broke it out of the container after a month or so of just sitting there) and it seemed to work fine.

That rainbow paper was created by yours truly, using a technique that Jennifer McGuire shared on her YouTube channel. Kind of therapeutic! :) Don't ask me the colors, as I can't recall them! ;)

Not sure how many of these shaker cards I'll make (they don't "shake" as well as I'd like?) but they're fun, nonetheless!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Moregum4me (SOL)
Dies: Gumball Machine (MFT)
Paper: Pure Poppy, Stamper's Select, Silver Luxe, True Black (all PTI)
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine)
Other: Fuse Tool, Sleeve Protector sheet

It may be hard to see, but the sentiment is heat embossed. :)

I know the perfect person this is going to. A friend of mine always is able to make me laugh all the time...she's a sweet friend who is a gem to me!

Stamps: Because You (MFT)
Dies: Stitched Lines (PTI); Stitched Scallop Edges (MFT)
Paper: Pure Plum, Watercolor Wash patterned paper (both MFT); Stamper's Select (PTI)

Hello all,

Time for another challenge. :)

Click this image to go to the challenge!

Here's my entry.

It's hard to see here, but the portion with the sheep is a flap you can open up. :) So it's like a three-fold wallet in a sense! The die and components are a Blueprints 17. :)

The ring is balsa from Michaels.

You'll see I also attempted stenciling again with my new Clarity stencil brushes! :) I can get used to that.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Ewe are the Best (MFT); Warm Happiness, Too (PTI)
Dies: Blueprints 17 (MFT); Stitched Scene Builders (Frantic Stamper)
Paper: Stamper's Select, New Leaf pattern paper (both PTI); Ballet Blue (SU!); Orange Fizz (MFT)
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine)
Other: Brother Scan N Cut, Balsa wood, Markers, Positive Sign Stencil (MFT)

Hello all,

Well, just getting in the last moment of the MFT Sketch Challenge (click the image below to join in!)

Click image to join the sketch challenge!

I really enjoyed this sketch, as it allowed for many options... for example, did I want to make that inner rectangle a window or not.

I chose not.  :)

And I'll close the card, so you can see the band of colors on the inside.  :)

I love the little Birthday Present die from MFT! I like that lid can be removed for inserting a little something in it. :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Adorable Elephants (MFT)
Dies: Birthday Present, Inside & Outside Stitched Rounded Rectangles (both MFT)
Paper: Classic Kraft, Stamper's Select (both PTI); Gumdrop Green, Tranquil Textures (both MFT)
