Happy Birthday, Paige!

Hello all,

If you're like me, you enjoy making cards for little kids... why? Because they get so excited when a hand-made card is created just for them! (Kind of like some of us big kids) :)

When I saw this opportunity:

Please consider sending her a card! :)
I knew I had to jump at it! I can't resist that smile. :)

Paige suffers from brittle bones, and her first two birthdays were not very great ones. Read more about her story here.

Of course, I could only guess what a little girl likes in terms of colors, but I knew she was turning the big milestone age of THREE years old...so here's what I came up with. :)

And, being a fellow April birthday myself, I had to give her a shout-out on the inside!  :)

Sorry for blurry photography!

I hope she'll enjoy the many cards she's bound to receive! :)

Please consider sending her a card...I know she'd love it! :)

Congrats on your New Home!

Hello all,

I had the distinct pleasure to learn that two friends on Facebook were moving to new homes! :)

Good timing, so I thought I would just create two cards - similar styles, but also different a bit. :)

Thank You

Hello all,

Today, I'll be showcasing a thank you card I made using the awesome Floral Eye Dazzler Card Panel die from Frantic Stamper. This is such a great, versatile die that can be used for backgrounds with either contrasting colors, or even "tone-on-tone" variations.

I decided to try some colors that are outside my normal comfort zone for thank you cards. I wasn't sure if the berry/melon colors and browns would work, but I'm pretty satisfied with the results.  :)

I love the Arched Banner and Greetings stamp set and find it has many uses, not just for fancier cards, but even for more casual cards.

I wanted to connect something with the white banner, so went with some Fresh Snow ribbon from PTI and a dark chocolate button to match the matting behind the main panel.

I think I'd like to next try this die with some reds, blues, and whites for a pretty cool Fourth of July card! :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Arched Banner and Greetings (Frantic Stamper)
Dies: Floral Eye Dazzler Card Panel (Frantic Stamper)
Paper: Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Dark Chocolate, and Stamper's Select (all PTI)
Ink: Dark Chocolate (PTI); Onyx Black (Versafine)
Other: Dark Chocolate button, Fresh Snow ribbon, white twine (all PTI)

Praying You Through Hard Times

Hello all,

Well, after MUCH practice (and grumbling and complaining), I finally got my Brother Scan-N-Cut to do what I wanted it to do... now, if I can repeat/duplicate this? That's a whole other story! :)

I wanted to get Tulip Time (from PTI) and merge the shape with a circle...

Here's what I finally came up with

and some close-ups:

I wasn't sure about the patterned paper in the back at first, but I didn't want to just use another solid color! :) I'm happy with how it turned out.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Tulip Time (PTI); Poster Board Sentiments (Gina K)
Dies:
Paper: Vintage Cream, Raspberry Fizz, True Black, Mint Julep + White Basics (all PTI)
Ink: Pixe Pink and Green Galore (both SU!); Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Mint Julep, (all PTI); Onyx Black (Versafine)
Other: Brother Scan-N-Cut, Orchid Rhinestones (Queen & Co.)

A Unicorn Trio! :)

Hello all,

I have a few co-workers who have dubbed themselves the unicorns (for reasons too detailed to get into here!)  :)

I saw this stamp set at Frantic Stamper and knew I had to get it for them!

I placed them on hills created with the Stitched Scene Builder dies.

I wanted to treat each uniquely, so just chose a varied color theme for each one...and included a different funny sentiment accordingly.

I hope you enjoy!

You are in my prayers - Spring Wreath

Hello all,

I recently got my order in from My Favorite Things stamps and had to quickly play with Spring Wreath!

It's a very versatile set, especially if one gets the dies with it. :)

I was going to originally place the die-cut flowers on foam to add some dimension, but I decided I liked the look of just placing them on the wreath instead.

If I had to do it all over again, I'm not sure I'd add the impression plate...as I think it may make it a bit too busy. :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Spring Wreath (MFT)
Dies: Spring Wreath (MFT)
Paper: Rustic Cream, Aqua Mist, Classic Kraft (all PTI)
Ink: Simply Chartreuse, Bright Buttercup, Aqua Mist, Berry Sorbet (all PTI); Soft Suede (SU!)
Other: Berry Sorbet saddle stitch ribbon, Vineyard impression plate (both PTI); Ticket Corner punch (SU!)

Happy Wishes

Hello all!

As one of my first projects I created for Frantic Stamper (I'm fortunate enough to be a Guest Design Team Member!), I wanted to play with the Double Diamond Card Panel die.

For the little opening, I just used my Nestabilities Oval dies to make the small frame. Then, with the smaller die, I cut into the panel itself. I then glued the oval frame I made onto the card. :)

Clear as mud?!  :)

I didn't want the panel to just be on a boring solid panel, so I made my own background using Pretty Posies in various shades, including white.

I love this panel die and I can see it as being used for so many types of cards! :)

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Pretty Posies (Frantic Stamper)
Dies: Double Diamond Card Panel (Frantic Stamper); Large and Small Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders)
Paper: Lovely Lady and Vintage Cream (both PTI)
Ink: White (Wplus9); Lovely Lady and Autumn Rose (both PTI)

A Note of Thanks

Hello all,

I finally was able to break out my Painted Petals stamp set (from PTI) and put it to work. I admit I had to look at faithful Pinterest for ideas, because I couldn't fathom how to assemble the flowers. :) It was a fun learning experience!

I don't often make square cards, but I guess that's becoming less infrequent.

Anyway, without further ado, here's the card:

Stamps: Painted Petals

Paper: Aqua Mist, Tropical Teal, Stampers' Select, Classic Kraft (all PTI)
Ink: Simply Chartreuse, Plum Pudding, Bright Buttercup, Tropical Teal, Aqua Mist (all PTI); More Mustard (SU!)
Other: Woodgrain and Burlap impression plates (both PTI)
