You're Souper Cool! :)

Hello all,

I have a love-hate relationship with shaker cards. They love to make me hate making them. :D

Here's my second attempt at a shaker card recently. Instead of dimensional tape (which seemed to cause the sequins to stick to the sides of their compartment), I used fun foam. This helped a bit I guess?

I did learn that larger sequins seem to not stick as much. I think that's mostly because of their weight.

In any case, I'm learning that this is the nature of the beast of shaker cards...they "stick" where you don't want them to be... like some kids!  ;)

Like that background panel? :) That's a linen background stamp from My Favorite Things. I love how it turned out!

I hope you like my card, regardless of how "unshaken" it appears.

It's hard to make out, but the pots, the spoon, and bowl all have Wink of Stella on them.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Recipe for Happiness, Linen Background Stamp (both MFT)
Dies: Blueprints 29 (MFT)
Paper: Pure Poppy Pattern Paper, Classic Kraft, Stamper's Select (all PTI); Cement Grey (MFT)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento); Classic Kraft (PTI)
Other: Sequins; Copics; Wink of Stella; Clear embossing powder (Wow!); Scan N Cut (Brother)

Thanks for visiting!
Ted

  1. Cute card! Love the background and the design. I also have a love/hate with shakers, I use my powder tool on the inside tape edges before putting in the sequins and it de-sticks the sticky...... hope that helps a bit

  2. Hi Ted, I like your shaker card. One tip I have seen lately is to use the EK Success powder tool. to go around the inside of the foam tape to unsticky it. I have done this and it helps.

  3. Really cool card, Ted! Although it may not shake as much as you'd have liked, it is still so cool because you put so much love in the stamped images and figuring out the sequins and compartment. Well done!
