My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #281 - My first shaker card! :)

Hello all,

Yep, seems like I'm doing nothing but challenges lately... but that's ok, as I'm really enjoying trying out new things...

...like my first shaker card! (Yes, I've joined this century!)  :P

Here's the challenge (click on the image to go there!)

I thought it was time I'd break out my new(ish) Gumball Machine (MFT) and make a shaker card!

Here's a tilted view so that you can see the metallic accents! :)

I used a Fuse tool (broke it out of the container after a month or so of just sitting there) and it seemed to work fine.

That rainbow paper was created by yours truly, using a technique that Jennifer McGuire shared on her YouTube channel. Kind of therapeutic! :) Don't ask me the colors, as I can't recall them! ;)

Not sure how many of these shaker cards I'll make (they don't "shake" as well as I'd like?) but they're fun, nonetheless!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Moregum4me (SOL)
Dies: Gumball Machine (MFT)
Paper: Pure Poppy, Stamper's Select, Silver Luxe, True Black (all PTI)
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine)
Other: Fuse Tool, Sleeve Protector sheet

  1. Very nice Ted. I have to admit I haven't made a shaker card. I do love the stripes you made, yours look really good. I think I really like the thinner stripes the best.

    1. Thanks, Barb! :) Hmm, I'd suggest reading "Unknown"'s comment below...as I may try that to make the items shake more easily?

  3. Cute card, Ted! If you want your shaker to shake more, instead of using the fuse tool, use a double layer of foam tape around the edge of the opening. The extra depth of the shaker will allow the goodies inside more freedom to move.

  5. Beautiful card Ted-you are not the only one who has never done a shaker card and I have been stamping over 20 years. Good to know the tip about the foam tape-I MAY have to try a shaker card-yours is too cute!
