Just Because

Well, it had been a while since I used my Giga Guidelines, etc. :) So, I took out some of Papertrey Ink's Gridline paper and went to town. :)

I placed it on the card, pleased with the blue and green (I wanted to make a masculine card) and thought, "Wow... it looks quite 'overwhelming'..." so I got inspired to try to place some of PTI's Vellum Cardstock over it and the rest is history.

I really like how the cardstock subdued the paper and softened it... even if it IS for a guy.  ;)

I stamped the "Just Because" in Night of Navy (Stampin' Up!) on the vellum and couldn't be happier.

Thanks for looking and/or commenting! :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Giga Guidelines, Guidelines, Guidelines 2 (all Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Pacific Point, Sage Shadow, Brocade Blue, Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy (all Stampin' Up!)
Paper:  Guidelines 1, Vellum Cardstock, Vintage Cream (all Papertrey Ink)
Other: ATG

Looks great, Ted! I love the idea of vellum to soften a background and making the sentiment pop! I'll just add it to my ever growing list of things I need!

I love it! I am pretty new to PTI so I don't have many of the stamps yet, but I have been really digging the things I have seen with this set! Another example of why I *NEED* this set! TFS Ted.

Ted the Vellum is a stroke of genius! I was having the same difficulty with the design colors being overpowering, so I set the whole thing aside. Thanks for the idea :)

WOW. This is quite striking Ted. I like how the vellum softens it, but it still remains masculine. Good to know! I would have thought otherwise.
