Secretary Gift #2

Two down, one more to go! ;)

Here they are (clear box in the background):

A close-up of one of the cards:
A close-up of the embossed flower and Raspberry Fizz (PTI) button. :)
And finally, a close-up of the sentiment and Raspberry Fizz (PTI) ribbons!
Thanks for looking and/or commenting! :)

Oh! I have a question for all of you:

I'm thinking of making note cards like this and boxing them for sale (SIX in a box, including envelopes on which I may stamp a small coordinating image)... just not sure how much to ask. What's your HONEST opinion? Would you pay $10 for these? Would you pay $12? What's the most you'd pay if you were buying and what's the least you'd ask for if you were selling? :)

I realize I won't make money off these, of course...but if the money can help pay for my papercrafting, then woot! :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Take a Note, Blooming Button Bits (both Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Bordering Blue, Garden Green (both Stampin' Up!); Versamark (for embossing)
Paper:  Certainly Celery, Bordering Blue, Whisper White (all Stampin' Up!)
Other: Key Tag Punch (Stampin' Up!); Raspberry Fizz Button, Raspberry Fizz topnotch twill, Rustic Twine  (all Papertrey Ink); Clear embossing powder, ATG, heat gun

Lovely cheery set Ted, love how the leaves are circling the flower!

I'm afraid I won't be able to help much with your question seeing as, well, I've no idea what a fair price is in the US for a handmade set! The only thing I would say though is to not sell yourself short!!

Wow Ted! These look fabulous! How many cards would be included in the set? I say don`t shortchange yourself. People are usually willing to pay for quality handmade product. TFS!

Wonderful gift sets, Ted. I'm no help with selling. I can't get myself to put a price tag on what I make. I wind up just giving them away. Sorry.

Ted, love you cards. Really great! Your secretaries will love them.

As for the gift set. $12 seems reasonalbe, thats only 2 a card if your doing 6. And Im sure you would decorate a pretty box/holder for them. Something homemade is well worth the price. HTH.

Super sweet card set! I guess I can't really help much on pricing, I don't really work in dollars unless it's a PTI order! LOL! I know I'd pay a good amount, I'm really appreciative of the effort that goes into handmade items!

Great set Ted!

I think $10 is more than a fair price. When I price things for a craft show I take the cost of my supplies and double that, then add a little bit more for my time. Unfortunately, non-crafters do not always understand the time and effort it takes to make our creations and often are not willing to pay top dollar.

Love the cards Ted. i would imagine these are for your secretaries at school? I might have to case them. . . although one of our secretaries stamps! Great idea.

I think people would easily pay $12 but I also don't sell many cards!

Oh Ted, those are beautiful.. I don't sell my stuff, but if I didn't craft, I would pay at least $12 to $15.. especially if they looked looked like these.

Great cards. I would pay 12 ....

I really like this set! I agree that $12 is a good price for 6 handmade cards with envelopes.

Thanks for sharing!

Great job! I think $10.00 is more than fair to start out. I know they are worth a lot more than that though but unfortunately I have found that is very hard to sell handmade stuff especially for what it is worth. Where are you thinking of selling them?

Cathy Weber said...

I'd start out at $10 and see how it goes. If they sell quickly you know you were priced too low. I think there would be a lot of people interested in those cards. They look great. Let us know what happens.

Ted, I wouldn't sell these for less than 12.00. Even the most "frugal" people I make cards for do not pay under 2.00 a card, even if it's a note card set. They are "worth" 12.00, and you don't want to sell yourself short!

I agree with the posters who said $12. You should start there. If you have to, go down to $10...but it's a steal even at $12.
