Becky's Compose a Card #5 - My Submission

Well, just call me Challenge Charlie... because I'm on a roll. :)

Becky Oehlers, whose blog you can find here, is one of my favorite people. She's a real sweetheart who is down to earth and just all around a great person. So, seeing as she's been so kind to me... I figure the least I could do is join at least ONE of her challenges, right? ;)  Here's the challenge:

You can click the image to go to her challenge and read about it. :)

Basically, Becky has given us components of a card (as exemplified above) and we need to come up with something... ANYTHING that has those components. :) Of course, now that I'm looking at it again, I forgot the button *tears out his hair in grief!* Ah well, I can say at least I tried, right? That's good for something, isn't it?! (Yes, that and $1.00 will get me a hamburger at McD's!)  :P

Anyway, here's my submission:

And here's a close-up where I hope you can see the Stickles in the red stars:

And finally, a side shot where you can see the bottom portion is "dimensionalized" (is that even a word? It is now!) ;)
Thanks for looking and/or commenting! :)

Recipe:
Stamps: Star Prints (Papertrey Ink); Darling Dots (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Baja Breeze and Real Red, (both Stampin' Up!)
Paper:  Whisper White (Stampin' Up!); Bitty Dot Basics and Aqua Mist (both Papertrey Ink)
Other: Crystal Stickles, Corner rounder, ATG, Dimensionals

Who needs a button when you have stickles? Button Schmutton! Cool card Ted! Love it!
PS. Those were some really nice words there, mister! ***blushing***

Really like the bottom panel having dimension off the base Ted, and the touch of Stickles on the stars!

You are a star Ted!! Nice job.

I love the way you turned the mat layers - gives it a completely different look! The stars can be your "button", it's a similar effect!

I love the stars. I don't pull out my Star Prints nearly often enough. I think I've been inspired to do so very soon.

GREAT masculine card and I can alway use more of those.

Hi Ted! Just got my Papertrey News e-mail and read about you. I rushed right over. It is so delicious to have a man share in the papercrafting art - I just love it. And your style is so refreshing after all the really girlie styles. I like it. Your blog lets your personality shine through and that's fun too! I'm a follower!

How come I can't see any of your cards? It says Photobucket Bandwidth exceeded? Upgrade to Pro?? Is that me or YOU??

Dana said...

OH man. For some reason I can't see the photos you've posted. Just an image saying photobucket bandwith has been exceeded! *pout* I want to see!!!!! What is wrong with my computer????

Hi Ted ... would love to comment on your work but, unfortunately am not as computer literate as I would like to be ... can't access your photos ... can you suggest what it is I need to do ... "bandwith exceeded" on photobucket is what I see in place of your work ... I use a mac if that makes any difference. Thanks Ted.

Hey Ted, I got my Papertrey newsletter today and wanted to check out your art but... all I can see is square after square of "bandwidth exceeded, update to Pro today." Wah. I added you to my Google Reader sites and the same thing is happening. Is that on your end or mine?

Marcee said...

Darn! All I can see is boxes saying to upgrade to Photobucket Pro-bandwidth exceeded.

couldn't find where to congratulate you on the write up at the papertrey news!!!! so - congratulations!

Ted, something is seriously wrong with my computer I think . . . I cannot see your photos, just a box that says bandwidth exceeded . . . photobucket. Hmmm, what might be the issue? I bet its really cute though!

Great card, Ted. And great use of Star Prints. I was about to play along with Becky's challenge, but didn't have time.

Great take on the challenge, Ted (I nearly called you Charlie!). I really want to do the challenge this time but don't think I'll have the time, but at least I can see everybody else's!

peggysue said...

Yay, I can see it! This is really a neat idea, I wouldn't have thought of using those stamps in the background.
