Mother Card

In a recent newsletter of Papertrey Ink, the feature article was how to use texture to enhance one's cards. The author shared a technique of using a paper edger and twine and I realized, "Hey! I have both a paper edger AND twine! I should try something like that!"

So, I made this card, with original intentions of sending it off to the troops with Operation: Write Home... but then my mom had a good point... the buttons may prove troublesome for one of the troops to send to his/her mom.  :(  So I told my mom that I hope she liked the card... it will be hers come Mother's Day!  ;)

Below is the result of my epiphany...

A closer look at the button "flowers". :)

Here's the edge of my paper after I used the paper edger and my fingernail...

A close-up of the sentiment with rhinestone...

Thanks for looking!

Ted, Both your cards came out great. I love the distressing you did on the Mother card. (I really need to get my distressing tool out).
Your plaid came out awesome on your second card. You are gonna have fun with that set. Can't wait to see more of it. Great job on both.

Pretty card Ted! I didn't think of the buttons issue either. I like the texture though and it really is pretty.

Tee Hee - I'm sure your mum loved the sneak peek she got of her Mother's Day card ;D
Darn those postage baddies - I just love playing with buttons but they add a hefty cost to postage :o( Oh well, more buttons to admire and stroke :D!
